SaaS Facebook Ads Examples From the Ad Library

SaaS Facebook ads that keep running sell one painful job, not a product tour. The live examples in the Meta Ad Library make that obvious: long-running creatives name a workflow, show the mess before the tool, and ask for a demo or a trial of that one thing.

This is a swipe-file guide. How to find those ads, which formats survive, and what to copy versus leave alone.

What do long-running SaaS Facebook ads look like?

Five patterns cover most of what stays live.

1. The job-to-be-done hook. First line names the work, not the category. "Stop rebuilding the same report in three tools" beats "The all-in-one analytics platform." The reader has to recognise their Tuesday afternoon in the first two seconds.

2. The founder or operator to camera. A real person, often the founder, talking through the problem they built the product for. Low production. High trust. This is the SaaS version of UGC, and the talking-head patterns in how to find UGC ad examples transfer almost one-for-one.

3. The workflow screen recording. Cursor moving through the job the ad just named. Not a feature tour. One task, start to finish, with on-screen captions. The ones that last keep the UI honest: real data, real clutter, no fake dashboards.

4. The before-state still. A spreadsheet, an inbox, a Slack thread, a pile of CSVs. Then the same job inside the product. Static, cheap, and surprisingly durable when the before-state is ugly enough.

5. The social-proof stack. Logo row, one named customer quote, one specific result the customer said in their own words. Weak as a cold opener. Strong as a retargeting follow-up after someone already saw the job ad.

FormatWhere it shows upWhat to steal
Job-to-be-done hookCold traffic, single image or videoThe first-line phrasing of the job

How do I find SaaS Facebook ads in the Ad Library?

Open facebook.com/ads/library. No account needed. Search a competitor Page name first, then search the job phrase your buyers actually type.

A useful pass looks like this.

  • Country filter on. SaaS creative differs by market, and a US-only search hides the UK and EU pages you also compete with.
  • Page name for the five tools you lose deals to. Then the five tools one tier above you.
  • Keyword search for the job, not the category. "invoice chasing", "candidate pipeline", "churn report", "SOC 2 checklist". Category words like "CRM" return noise.
  • Read Started running on on every card. That date is the only public winner signal the library gives you. Spend and engagement are hidden on commercial ads.
steps
Open Ad Library :: facebook.com/ads/library, country on
Search Pages :: Five rivals, five aspirational tools
Search the job :: Buyer language, not category words
Read start dates :: Long-runners are the swipe file
Save the set :: ZIP before anything gets paused
A SaaS Ad Library pass from search to saved swipe file.

The library is free and it has no download button. Ads disappear the moment they are paused. There is no spend, no CTR, and no impression count on commercial ads. The political/EU API does not help you here. Longevity is the practical filter, and Facebook ad longevity is the full argument for trusting that date.

Which SaaS ad formats actually keep running?

Video of a person or a workflow, then static of the before-state. Carousels of feature cards are common and usually short-lived.

What you will see a lot of, and should treat with suspicion:

  • Product-hunt style launch creatives. They spike, then die.
  • Feature grids with six icons. They look like a homepage screenshot because they are.
  • "AI-powered" as the entire hook. The long-runners that mention AI still lead with the job, then name the model as a supporting line.
  • Customer logos with no quote. Logo walls without a sentence attached rarely last.

What you will see less of, and should study harder:

  • A 20-second screen recording of one painful task.
  • A founder saying who the product is not for.
  • A trial CTA that names the time box. "See it on your own data in 15 minutes."
  • A demo CTA that names the agenda. "We'll map your current reporting stack live."

Primary keyword check is not a scoring system. But you will notice that saas facebook ads from companies that have been live for months almost never lead with the product name. They lead with the work.

The wider pattern set lives in Facebook ad examples. Use that page for format vocabulary. Use this page for what the software category actually runs.

What should I copy from a SaaS ad, and what should I leave?

Copy the angle. Leave the asset.

Copy:

  • The job phrasing in line one. If three competitors all open on "month-end close", that is the market talking, not a coincidence.
  • The objection they answer in the first 8 seconds. IT review, data migration, "we already have a tool for this".
  • The CTA type. Demo versus trial versus waitlist versus webinar. SaaS Facebook ads that last pick one and stay on it.
  • The qualifier. "For teams of 20–200" does more work than a clever headline.
  • The proof texture. Named company, named role, named workflow. Vague "10,000 teams" lines are filler.

Do not copy:

  • Their UI footage, product screens, or customer faces. Those are theirs.
  • Their exact script. Structure is fair game. Verbatim is not.
  • Claims you cannot stand behind on your own landing page.
  • A competitor's "Started running on" date as if it were your result. Longevity tells you they kept paying. It does not tell you why.

A second pass that is easy to skip: open the landing page the ad points to. The long-running saas facebook ads almost always send cold traffic to a page that repeats the same job in the first screen. If the ad says "stop rebuilding reports" and the page opens on a platform overview, the account is leaking. Note that mismatch in your swipe file. It is as useful as the creative.

How do I save a SaaS swipe file before ads vanish?

Do not screenshot five ads into a Slack channel and call it research. You will lose the carousel cards, the primary text, and the start date.

Our free Meta Ad Library Downloader adds a Download button on facebook.com/ads/library. It grabs HD video, images, and full carousels, then packs the set into a bulk ZIP with a searchable index.html swipe board and a CSV. It is free, needs no account, runs in the browser, and nothing goes through Klipio servers. Not affiliated with Meta.

Install it from the Chrome Web Store if you do not already have it. Current listing is v1.2.31, 31 languages.

What to keep in the CSV so the swipe file stays useful six weeks later:

  • Page name and the job you searched.
  • Format (talking head, screen recording, static, carousel).
  • CTA (demo, trial, webinar, waitlist).
  • Start date.
  • The first-line hook, copied into a "angle" column in your own words.

Full carousels matter here. SaaS carousels often hide the real pitch on card three or four. A single saved thumbnail is not the ad.

How is SaaS creative different from broader B2B ads?

SaaS is a product the buyer can try. Broader B2B is often a conversation, a quote, or a long sales cycle with no self-serve path. That split changes the creative.

SaaSBroader B2B
Cold CTATrial or product demoCall, form, or guide
ProofProduct in use, on screenCredential, case, or face
Objection"We already have a tool""Is this firm for us"
FunnelProduct can close itselfSales has to close it

If you buy for a services firm, an agency, or industrial, read B2B Facebook ad examples next. The library search is the same. The formats that last are not.

Two more filters that save time:

  • Ignore ads that launched this week unless you are tracking a specific launch. You want the ones still on after the first creative review.
  • Ignore ads that only exist as Advantage+ catalogue or "you viewed this" retargeting if you are building a cold-angle swipe file. Those ads assume the viewer already knows the product.

The library hides spend, so a huge brand running a weak ad for two days can look as loud as a 40-person company running a winner for nine months. The date on the card is how you tell them apart.

What search terms actually surface useful SaaS ads?

Page names first. Then jobs. Then adjacent tools.

A starter list, which you should replace with your own category:

  • The exact product category buyers use in a sentence. "project management for agencies", not "PM software".
  • The broken workaround. "spreadsheet for hiring", "shared inbox for support", "Notion as a CRM".
  • The trigger event. "SOC 2 this year", "first sales hire", "replacing Salesforce".
  • The role plus the job. "head of CS churn", "finance month end".

Keyword search in the library is closer to exact than you want. Try two or three phrasings of the same job. A misspelling or a hyphen will hide a Page that is running a perfectly good ad.

Once you have a set, sort it by start date in your CSV. The top ten long-runners are the brief. Everything else is noise you can look at later.

Save the primary text, not just the video. SaaS hooks often live in the first line of copy while the creative is a generic screen recording. If you only keep the MP4, you lose the thing worth stealing.

The short version

SaaS Facebook ads that last name one job, show that job, and ask for a demo or a trial of that job. Search the Ad Library by rival Page and by buyer language, trust the start date, and save the full creative before it disappears. Copy the angle. Leave the asset.

FAQ

What do good SaaS Facebook ads look like?

They name one job in the first line, show that job on screen or in a talking-head explanation, and ask for a demo or a trial. Feature lists and platform overviews rarely stay live for long.

How do I find competitor SaaS ads on Facebook?

Use the Meta Ad Library at facebook.com/ads/library. Search the competitor's Page name, then search the job phrase their buyers use. Filter to your country. Read the "Started running on" date on each card.

Which SaaS ad format works best on Facebook?

There is no public spend data on commercial ads, so "best" is whatever is still running. In practice that is founder or operator video, a screen recording of one task, and a static of the ugly before-state.

Can I reuse a competitor's SaaS ad creative?

No. Study the structure, the first-line job, and the CTA type. Do not reuse their footage, UI captures, or customer testimonials. Copy the angle, not the asset. This is not legal advice.

Why do SaaS Facebook ads disappear from the Ad Library?

The library only shows active ads. When an advertiser pauses or deletes an ad, the card vanishes. There is no native download or history for commercial ads, which is why saving the search matters.

Should SaaS ads send people to a demo or a free trial?

Look at what the long-runners in your exact category do. Self-serve products often lead with a trial. Higher-ACV tools often lead with a scoped demo. The library will show you which CTA the surviving ads picked.
